Fake Left-Behind Parent and Child Abduction Fraudster
Peter Senese is man with many names which are used for his nefarious activities - he was convicted in 1997 of a multi-million healthcare insurance fraud and sentenced to 5 years probation in Suffolk County, New York and again in 1998 for a $70,000 check fraud in Sonoma County, California and served 5 months in jail.
Senese is currently masquerading as a left-behind parent claiming his son was abducted to the Far East where he was sold into a pedophile/pornography ring. Senese claims to have assembled a team of investigators and mercenaries to recover his child (and incidentally "take out" the pedophiles) - his book, Chasing the Cyclone is supposedly based upon this.Except it never happened - his child was born in Canada while he was incarcerated, the mother being awarded sole custody and Peter being subject to a restraining order.
Senese has been preying on left-behind parents for at least two years now - claiming to be a wealthy benefactor, raising their hopes in a time of desperate need, only to disappear when it comes to crunch time. The pitch is typically that he is a very wealthy man, a left-behind parent who understands their pain, that he will help with lawyers, money, investigators, that he is very well connected with the NCMEC and FBI and that he has written a book (Chasing the Cyclone) about his own experiences and which is being turned into a movie (usually with Russell Crowe in the lead role playing himself).
Don't fall for it - it's all a con to either scam you or to scam businesses into giving him money.
Why the US authorities have not dealt Senese is no mystery - he has conned the FBI, NCMEC, law enforcement and it is embarrassing for them to admit it, so numerous private individuals and businesses are left to suffer the consequences. He most recently testified before the Florida legislature as an expert and left-behind parent in connection with the Child Abduction Prevention Act, now signed into law by Governor Crist.
What is equally clear is that he is using this "credibility by association" to solicit "donations" from individuals and businesses.
